One
would think that Wear Purple for Peace Day originated in
protest of a particular war or conflict. Or, perhaps it should
have been conceived by the UN, or another peacemaking or peace
keeping group. There is no evidence supporting the origin of this
holiday stemming from these sources. Of course this holiday intrigued
us at HBPT since our logo colors are purple and teal.
Some
unknown originators decided to promote world peace by establishing
a Wear Purple for Peace Day. The main goal is to make the world
a peaceful place.
Here
are some of our peaceful healthy purple tips for you:
| 1. |
Call
your best friend to take a long healthy walk together, but
remember to stop and smell the lilacs. |
| 2.
|
Gather
up your family and/or friends to go check out the Tumalo Lavender
Farm this summer. The lavender scent can help put you in a
relaxed, peaceful state of mind. Lavender has been used for
ages for its calming benefits. |
| 3.
|
Add
blue berries (even though they are blue, they leave a lovely
purple stain) several times a week to your daily diet. The
USDA has determined blueberries contain the highest levels
of antioxidants. |
| 4. |
Wear
purple while shopping for heart healthy purple foods such
as eggplant, purple cabbage, purple peppers, purple potatoes,
purple onions and even purple basil. They all contain flavonoids
which are heart-healthy, beneficial to the cardiovascular
system and can lower your risk of heart disease. |
| 5. |
Meditate
in shades of purple. A purple aura (also known as violet and
indigo) means that you are in a good space spiritually, and
that you are close to experiencing a state of open awareness
contributing to a relaxed state. |
We
would love to share with you this quotation:
If
we have no peace,
it is because we have forgotten
that we belong to each other.
