June 2010 Wellness Notes
Celebrate
the 4th of July and remember to stay healthy!
Fill
up on 2 glasses of water before having that hamburger smothered
with all the fixings.
Park
your car down the street from Pilot Butte and then walk to the
base to watch the fireworks.
Go
for a walk up Pilot Butte on the 5th and see where they put
out all the potential fires.
Drink
plenty of water eat lots of fresh fruit.
Celebrate
the 4th and stay cool by making red, white and blue water balloons
and having a fun water balloon fight.
Wear
sunscreen and re-apply frequently.
Make
sure to practice safe firework lighting techniques and watch
children at all times.
Take
time to call a loved one and wish them a happy 4th of July.
Walk
around while chatting so you get some exercise too.
Enjoy
the festivities by going to the parade and walking with your
children and/or your pets.
Give
thanks for your freedom and that in the United States we get
to make our own independent choices - and even though they may
differ from our neighbors, we can still share a good talk at
the mailbox, watch each others pets when we're out of town,
and share the holidays that make us uniquely American.
Make
a red, white
and blue smoothie
1c. lowfat vanilla yogurt
½ c blueberries
½ c. strawberries
¼ c. ice, blend and enjoy.
